St. George, Utah Visitors Guide

St. George was founded by members of the Latter Day Saints and is the closest town to Zion National Park, making it a favorite base camp for many area guests. You will find specialty lodging like the historic Green Gate Village with its elegant rooms, the restful and rejuvenating Red Mountain Spa and an assortment of hotels and camping areas.

  • Brigham Young Winter Home- See where Mr. Young spent the winter months of the last 4 years of his life. The home contains original furnishings and assorted mementos.
  • Pine Valley Chapel- Built by famed shipbuilder Ebenezer Bryce, this beautiful chapel is still used today. Resembling an upside-down ship, the chapel was first constructed on the ground then raised and joined with wooden pegs and rawhide.
  • Tuacahn Amphitheatre- Located just outside of St. George, this is a great place to spend an evening. Shows here include classics like West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, and Singin' in the Rain.
